Leveraged Wealth & Insurance Strategist helping Canadian business owners and high-income professionals make their capital work harder.
Wallace Wang is the Founder & CEO of Wallace Wang Financial Services, a Calgary-based licensed life insurance and segregated fund agency, and a Leveraged Wealth & Insurance Strategist focused on helping Canadian business owners and high-income professionals make more strategic use of their capital.
At Wallace Wang Financial Services, Wallace leads a team working across leveraged investment and insurance strategies. His areas of focus include investment lending, corporate-owned life insurance, policy-backed borrowing, and other corporate and personal borrowing structures.
Rather than approaching investment, insurance, and borrowing as separate decisions, Wallace focuses on how these strategies work together as part of a broader wealth strategy. His work is particularly relevant to business owners and high-income professionals who have already accumulated income, corporate cash flow, or assets and are looking for more efficient ways to deploy capital, maintain liquidity, protect wealth, and pursue long-term goals.
He is equally direct about the limits: leveraged strategies magnify losses as well as gains, and a significant part of his work is identifying the clients and situations for which they are not appropriate.
Beyond his practice, Wallace is a financial educator and content creator, translating sophisticated financial concepts into practical conversations for Canadian families and business owners — particularly around leverage, investing, corporate-owned insurance, borrowing, and capital efficiency.
Wallace's goal is to help successful Canadians think differently about how they use capital: not simply how much they earn or save, but how effectively their money is working for them.
Without leverage, a working Canadian has very little room to optimise tax — and very little room to change their financial position. Canada taxes employment income at the highest rates in the system and reserves its better treatment for capital that is actually deployed. A T4 earner has few levers: the deductions are capped, the brackets are fixed, and after-tax dollars saved slowly get taxed again on the way up.
That is the structural reason this practice is built around leverage rather than around products. Borrowing to invest is one of the few mechanisms in Canadian tax law that lets someone whose income is already fully taxed put capital to work at scale — which is also why interest incurred to earn investment income is generally deductible in the first place.
It is equally the reason we are explicit about who it does not suit. Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains, and the loan does not shrink when the market does. Sizing it to what you could carry through a bad decade — in writing, before anything is borrowed — is most of the work, and sometimes the answer is that it does not belong in your situation at all.
Optimizing your tax structure is the highest-yield, zero-risk strategy available to any investor. Before selecting any investment product, we ensure your income and asset structure is as tax-efficient as legally possible.
We do not chase returns. We build architectures. The right structure — combining TFSA, RRSP, non-registered accounts, insurance, and corporate vehicles — consistently outperforms speculative investing over any 10-year horizon.
Every financial plan contains risk. Our role is not to eliminate risk — it is to identify, quantify, and strategically transfer it. Capital protection is not a product category; it is a design principle.
We're a small, focused team. From your first application to contract signing, you work directly with our core team — never handed off to an unfamiliar 'client success' rep.
